Children of Schieffelin, Liberia
Schieffelin Mission Ministry is a tax exempt 501-c (3) organization whose mission is to provide ministry services and assistance to orphanages and children orphaned by war, Aids and other causes by providing training, education and other support services to improve the quality of life and to give them hope.
Located in Schieffelin, Liberia West Africa, Schieffelin Mission Ministry has a small church that also serves as the school for OVER 200 children. The children come to the little school only to have to return back to the streets because they have no where to go. They come to school with no clothes, and no shoes. Living on less than a dollar a day, the children of Schieffelin are all too familiar with extreme poverty, and disease. It has robbed them of hope and threatens to steal their future.
Committed to building a meaningful future for the children, Schieffelin Mission Ministry and the Mt. Zion United Church, Inc. of Liberia is building a new school, creating opportunities and beginning the process of change. Work on the school is progressing, however help is urgently needed to fund and continue construction.
